Interior minister attends directorate’s honouring ceremony

Manama, June 26 (BNA): Interior Minister, Lieutenant-General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, today attended a ceremony to handover the organisational excellence award to the Human Resources Directorate. The award was granted for the first time to an organisation in Bahrain by the European Organisation for Quality (EOQ), which is responsible for evaluating companies and organisations all over the world. The Interior Minister congratulated the Assistant Undersecretary of Human Resources, Brigadier Adel Ameen and the work team of the department for the achievement that would contribute to providing better services for the Interior Ministry staff.  He hailed the accomplishment, asserting the continuation of the Interior Ministry’s efforts to support and develop its manpower through the adoption of international standards in all aspects of work as part of the modernisation and development strategy of the Interior Ministry. The Assistant Undersecretary of Human Resources highlighted in a speech the directives of the Interior Minister to enhance the services provided to the Interior Ministry employees.  He said that the department was awarded the Quality Management System 9001/2000 and its updated version ISO 9001/2015. He said that to meet the Bahrain Economic Vision 2030, the Human Resources applied the environment management system and was the first government organisation to receive the ISO 14001 certificate. The ceremony also included a documentary on the award and the achievements and services of the department.  After that, the minister launched the smart application of the department’s services. Designed by the Directorate of Information Technology and e-Creativity, the application includes a host of services and facilities for all the Interior Ministry employees, such as training programmes and answering inquiries of employees.  The Interior Minister received the award and honoured the excellence team members, winners of the Stevie Global Human Resources Awards and the team of the Directorate of Information Technology and e-Creativity that designed the application.
