Interior Minister attends World Government Summit 2020

Abu Dhabi, Mar.29 (BNA): The Minister of Interior Interior Minister General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa attended the World Government Summit 2020 which opened today in the United Arab Emirates. The event coincided with the conclusion of the Expo 2020 Dubai as an opportunity to explore the future of government work and review international challenges. The minister asserted that the future of government is linked to achieving excellence in performance and services through serious and active interaction with citizens to meet their requirements. He highlighted that the continuation of enhancing provided services required reinforcement of cooperation and coordination with all service organisations within the community partnership system. He affirmed the necessity to continue specialised training programmes and utilisation of modern technology within a comprehensive system of government performance to provide fast and efficient services. Through more than 100 sessions, the summit explores means to enhance government performance and the capabilities to adapt to fast changes. The minister also participated in the 4th ministerial meeting for Interior Ministers of the International Security Alliance. The Abu Dhabi-based alliance has Bahrain, UAE, Morocco, Italy, Slovakia, France, Israel, Spain, Senegal, Singapore and Netherlands as members, and it was formed in 2017. He delivered the following speech: “I greet you at the beginning of the meeting that represents the sincere desire and constructive approach of member states to enhance ways to exchange experiences and information and increase cooperation and coordination to take effective measures to address various security threats within the framework of joint efforts to reinforce regional stability and protect international peace and security”. “I want to express thanks and appreciation to His Highness UAE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, Lieutenant-General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan for his comprehensive and remarkable initiative and support to the alliance and its General Secretariat in Abu Dhabi”. “His support reflects a security vision and a comprehensive understanding of security incidents and developments and their repercussions on the regional and international arena”. “Reinforcement of security work to fight crimes contributes to achieving a swift response to prevent crime and its occurrence anywhere in the world. The number of participants in this alliance is an encouraging factor for its continuation and effectiveness”. “The efforts reflect on the organisation of joint exercises based on realistic scenarios that enhance the effectiveness of the training and the capability to achieve required goals”. “This meeting is an excellent opportunity to renew our determination to move forward toward reinforcing civil protection procedures to protect the safety of citizens and our countries from various threats and review and develop procedures and plans”. “Among security challenges are combating organised and terrorism crimes, drones and cyber-attacks through the expansion of artificial intelligence applications and modern technologies within a framework of cooperation, exchange of expertise and the use of modern devices”. “Through permanent and sincere cooperation, I am confident in our ability to confront security challenges and continue joint work, as expanding the exchange of experiences and competencies is the key to enhancing security, stability, and peace in our region and the world. Thank you all”. The meeting reviewed security topics to reinforce exchanging expertise and experiences to face security challenges and set joint strategies to fight crimes. On the sidelines of the meeting, the minister received His Highness UAE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior. He hailed the historical and brotherly ties between the two countries. The meeting reviewed security topics to promote regional stability. He also held meetings with the Interior Minister of Senegal, the Interior Minister of Albania and the Interior Minister of Singapore. The minister was accompanied by Interior Ministry officials.
