Interior minister launches RAP e-learning system

Manama, May 31 (BNA): Interior Minister and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Royal Academy of Police (RAP), Lieutenant-General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, chaired here today RAP’s board meeting.
Chief of Public Security and Chairman of RAP Scientific Council, Major-General Tariq Al Hassan, was also present.
The Interior Minister hailed the provided training, curricula and courses with the aim to enhance the skills of police personnel, asserting the importance of ongoing revision of training programmes to meet modern technology and the changes in security challenges.
He highlighted the importance to continue efforts to enhance police performance to improve the capability to use e-applications and the achievement of the highest performance levels through accuracy, speed and competency in security work. He also directed to focus on the development of scientific research, especially in topics related to social security and to include human rights in all programmes.
The meeting approved the recommendations of the RAP Scientific Council and the six-week advanced security course for officers that is being organised for the first time in the current academic year. HE Interior Minister also launched the e-learning system for RAP, highlighting that it was designed based on the experiences of prestigious international universities and academies. The system links all academic departments. The meeting reviewed the education and training progress during the academic year 2017-2018.
The minister affirmed the importance to continue development, especially in the quality of education and training, expressing thanks to all RAP employees.
