Interior minister meets Arab counterparts

Manama, Mar.2 (BNA): On the sideline of the 33rd session of the Arab Interior Ministers Council, held in Tunisia and chaired by the Kingdom of Bahrain, Interior Minister Lt-General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa has met Prince Mohammed bin Nayef bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Saudi Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister and Honourary President of the Arab Interior Ministers Council.
The meeting discussed Arab security cooperation and coordination to face security challenges in the region and topics of common interest as part of the strong historical bilateral ties, that have been witnessing ongoing development in the eras of the two leaderships, His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and his brother the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.
The interior minister the Saudi terrorism fighting efforts and the country’s support of the Gulf and Arab security cooperation process. He highlighted the importance of increasing coordination and moving towards further cooperation and coordination to fight terrorism, which is against the Islamic principles and Arab values.
He also met his Egyptian counterpart Major-General Magdi Abdelghafar, in which he highlighted Bahrain's support to the security procedures taken by Egypt to fight terrorism and extremism in order to dry their sources.
He highlighted that Egypt represents the strategic Arab depth through its supportive stances for Arab security and stability, asserting the support to Arab solidarity and the reinforcement of cooperation process in all fields, especially security.
The Egyptian Interior Minister expressed his thanks and appreciation to Bahrain’s supportive stances of the measures taken by Egypt to protect its security and stability and fight all types of terrorism, out of the existing brotherly ties.
The meeting discussed developments of security cooperation and joint work.
The interior minister also met the Jordanian Interior Minister Salama Hammad, in which he stressed the importance of ongoing bilateral security cooperation and coordination to tackle regional issues and hailed the strong brotherly ties between the two countries in the eras of HM the King and his brother HM King Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein.

The interior minister met his Tunisian counterpart Al-Hadi Mejdoub in the presence of the General Security of the Arab Interior Ministers Council Dr. Mohammed bin Ali Kouman.
