Interior Minister meets governors

Manama, Apr. 17 (BNA): Interior Minister Lt-General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa held a meeting with governors in the presence of the General Coordinator of Governorates. The Interior Minister expressed thanks to the governors for their efforts to serve citizens, hailing the cooperation and interactions between the governorates and the public. The meeting’s agenda included a number of cases and projects, on which the Interior Minister was briefed by His Highness Southern Governor on the camping season, highlighting the reduction in received cases and complaints by 46%. He also reviewed the importance of security steps to protect safety and security of labour camps. The Minister directed to develop traffic awareness campaigns, including motivating motorcyclists to wear safety tools.  The Muharraq Governor expressed thanks and appreciation to the Interior Minister for shifting the headquarters of the governorate and highlighted some community-oriented projects. The Capital Governor presented a report on the meetings of the security committee and the interactions with the public. He also highlighted the development of the complaint section to provide better services to citizens.  The Northern Governor highlighted work-related matters and the governorate’s coordination with other organisations. The Interior Minister highlighted the importance to continue interaction with the public to promote community partnership and make citizens more involved in the development of their districts.
