Interior Minister patronises Police Band honouring ceremony

Manama, May 10 (BNA): Interior Minister Lt-General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa patronised today an honouring ceremony for the Commander and the members of the Police Band out of appreciation of its high performance and distinguished participation in national and international events. He expressed thanks and appreciation to the Police Band Commander, Major-General Mubarak Najem and all the band’s members. He also highlighted that it represents sincerity and loyalty through its national participation and being part of many national success stories. The Interior Minister valued the band's contribution and dedication to enhancing nationalism and community partnership. He praised the band's role in reinforcing training and development, asserting that the police-related music the band Commander composed would remain immortal in the memory of the nation. He said that such contributions weren’t only restricted to the Police Band but also played a role the development of Bahraini music, in general, by protecting its originality and adopting modern methods to revive it. "We are proud of him as a Bahraini and Arab musician", he said. The Interior Minister asserted the importance to dedicate a day in the year to celebrate the Police Band. Meanwhile, the Police Commander delivered a speech in which he expressed sincere appreciation to the Interior Minister. He said that the band focuses on developing artistic capabilities and meeting the musical development through learnt experiences. He said that the success elements of the band were knowledge, enthusiasm and dedication to perform duties. He briefed the attendees about the history and development of the band and, then, a documentary about the band was shown highlighting the support of the Interior Minister to continue its achievements as the oldest Police Band in the region. The Interior Minister honoured members of the band and watched a performance of the band at the Public Security Officers Club. (MOI)
