Interior Minister patronises RAP graduation ceremony

Manama, Mar 24 (BNA): As part of Royal Orders of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, Interior Minister, Lt-General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, today patronised the graduation of the 11th batch of university graduate cadets at the Royal Academy of Police (RAP). The batch included graduates from the Bahrain Defence Force and National Security Agency. The ceremony also included the graduation of the second batch of the human rights diploma. Interior Minister was welcomed on arrival by Chief of Public Security Major-General Tariq Al Hassan and the RAP Commandant. At the event, HE the Minister inspected the parade and watched military exercises by the graduates. RAP Commandant thanked the Minister for supporting the RAP’s development. He said that the graduates have been trained in accordance with education and training programmes to enhance their competency as part of efforts to enhance prosperity, growth and stability of Bahrain. He said that through human rights diploma RAP works to reinforced the concept that the police are the protector of human rights and general freedom. Police personnel are the frontline for human rights and law enforcement. The Interior Minister honoured outstanding students and distributed human rights diploma certificates to the graduates, which is the first of its kind in the region. He also distributed certificates to the graduates of the high diploma of law and police science and Criminal and Police Science diploma. HE the Interior Minister congratulated the graduates and urged them to work hard in serving the nation. He also honoured the winners of the Interior Ministry Award of Security Research. He said the Interior Ministry placed great value on improving the skills of its manpower through education that met international standards so that its personnel would conduct themselves professionally while maintaining order and security throughout the country. He congratulated the educators at the RAP for enhancing the skills of its graduates and for their dedication to the internationally recognised educational curriculum. The ceremony was attended by senior Interior Ministry officers, officials and the graduates’ families.
