Interior Minister receives delegation from US Senate

Manama, May 29 (BNA): Interior Minister Lt-General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa received today a delegation from the US Senate, in the presence of Inspector-General Major-General Ibrahim Habib Ghaith and Chief of Public Security Major-General Tariq Al Hassan. He welcomed the delegation's visit to Bahrain as part of communication between both countries to boost bilateral cooperation and exchange views on issues of common interest. He also briefed the delegation on the efforts of the Interior Ministry to ensure people's safety in accordance with the human rights standards and the principles of the reform project of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. The Interior Minister highlighted the distinguished role of the community police in promoting community partnership, stressing that security and stability are based on the protection of national identity. The meeting also focused bilateral relations and ways of bolstering cooperation between both countries as well as issues of common interest. (MOI)
