Interior Minister receives IISS official

Manama, Aug. 2 (BNA): Interior Minister Lt-General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa today received the International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS)'s regional Executive Director, Tom Beckett. The meeting was also attended by Chief of Public Security, Major-General Tariq Al Hassan. The minister welcomed the guest, hailing the role of the IISS in the research and studies field and distinguished efforts in holding international conferences. He was briefed on the upcoming programmes of the institute. Lt-General Shaikh Rashid affirmed dedication to promote cooperation between the two organisations to achieved common goals. Beckett expressed thanks and appreciation to the Interior Minister for the provided support to research and studies organisations to fulfil their development roles.
