Interior minister receives KFCA’s annual report

Manama, July 3 (BNA): Interior Minister, Lt-General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, received here today the Director-General of the King Fahd Causeway Authority (KFCA), Abdulrahman bin Saad Al Yahya, in the presence of Chief of Public Security, Major-General Tariq Al Hassan. The minister lauded the strong brotherly ties between Bahrain and Saudi Arabia, valuing highly KFCA’s efforts in facilitating the movement of travelers and goods through the causeway. The Interior Minister was briefed on the future development plans and projects of the causeway. The Director-General presented him with the 29th report of KFCA for 2015 on numbers of travelers, vehicles and trucks that crossed the causeway from 1986 to 2015. Figures revealed that more than 305 million travelers had crossed the both sides of the causeway. Meanwhile the number of travelers reached more than 23 million in 2015 with an increase by 5.8% than 2014. The report also included the main projects that were achieved in a year. Al Yahya expressed thanks and appreciation to the Interior Minister for his care and dedication for the implementation of development projects of KFCA, hailing the on-going support of the Interior Ministry. The meeting was attended by the Director-General of Exists’ Security and Director of KFCA’s Public Relations.
