Interior minister receives Mohammed bin Naif Centre director

Manama, June 21 (BNA): Interior Minister, Lt-General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa received here Saudi Director of Mohammed bin Naif Counseling and Care Centre, Dr. Nasser Al-Mutairi.
The meeting was attended by Interior Ministry’s Undersecretary, Shaikh Nasser bin Abdulrahman Al Khalifa, and Assistant Undersecretary of Legal Affairs, Major-General Mohammed Buhamood.
The minister lauded the strong and historical ties between the two brotherly countries as part of GCC cooperation and integration.
He stressed importance of the ongoing security cooperation and coordination between the two countries and exchange of expertise to fight extremism and implement counseling and rehabilitation programmes to face security challenges and risks.
He said that the counseling programmes aim to give priority to the national interests by integrating youth into various activities, reinforce social fabric and protect national achievements.
The Interior Minister valued counter terrorism efforts of Saudi Arabia and the support of Gulf and Arab security cooperation. He highlighted importance to keep on fighting terrorism and extremism thoughts that are against Islam and Arab values.
The Saudi official highlighted the phases of the establishment and development of the centre and its mission, in addition to its local, regional and international contributions in fighting terrorism through rehabilitation and preventative programmes. He also highlighted the plans, goals and programmes of the centre to fight extremism.
The meeting was also attended by the Director-General of Criminal Investigation and Forensic Science.
