Interior minister receives St Petersburg governor

Manama, Apr. 25 (BNA): Interior Minister Lt-General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa received Russian St. Petersburg Governor, George Poltavchenko on Monday. Capital Governor, Shaikh Hisham bin Abdulrahman Al Khalifa and Russian Ambassador to the Kingdom of Bahrain, Vagif Garaev attended the meeting. Poltavchenko heads a delegation of various Russian government and private organisations. At the beginning of the meeting, the minister welcomed the guest, highlighting the importance of ongoing cooperation and coordination to promote the good ties between the two friendly countries. He said that the visit is part of the successful visit of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa to Russia in February. He highlighted the efforts of the Interior Ministry to promote security and general order and safety of the public as security is the foundation of secure investment environment and economic projects.
