Interior Minister receives UK official

Manama, Sep. 27 (BNA): Interior Minister, Lt-General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa received here today the Minister of State for Europe and the Americas at the UK Foreign & Commonwealth Office, Sir Alan Duncan, as part of his visit to Bahrain. The Interior Minister welcomed the guest for the visit that is part of interaction and exchange of views to reinforce the more than 200 years of ties between Bahrain and UK. He hailed the strong and deep historical ties between the two friendly countries. The minister informed the UK official about the efforts of the Interior Ministry to develop and modernise the security sector by the protection of security and public safety through law enforcement and commitment to human rights. The meeting discussed bilateral relations and cooperation, in addition to topics of common interests.
