Interior Minister receives US delegation

Manama, July 9 (BNA): Interior Minister Lt-General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa received today the US Assistant Secretary of State for Near Eastern Affairs Andrew Beck and his accompanying delegation. The meeting was attended by Public Security Chief Major-General Tariq Al Hassan and US Ambassador to Bahrain Justin Siberell. The Interior Minister welcomed the US Assistant Secretary of State for Near Eastern Affairs and his accompanying delegation, hailing the visit which aims to further cement relations between Bahrain and the USA. He stressed the importance of cooperation and coordination between the two friendly countries, especially in the security field. He confirmed that Bahrain would continue to reinforce the democratic approach as part of the reform project of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. (MOI)
