Interior Ministry Undersecretary receives first recipients of Golden Residency

Manama, Feb. 22 (BNA): Interior Ministry Undersecretary for Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs (NPRA) Shaikh Hisham bin Abdulrahman Al Khalifa today received the first recipients of golden residency permits. He congratulated them, highlighting that the service is a turning point to enhance provided services and support the national economy per the inspirations of the government and the Economic Vision 2030. The Undersecretary revealed that the NPRA had received 577 applications since the golden residency permit launch. He attributed the high demand to the success of Bahrain to attract employees, retirees, investors and talented individuals from various countries who consider Bahrain among their favourite countries. Meanwhile, the Labour Market Regulatory Authority CEO, Jamal Al Alawi, said that the golden residency permits don’t affect the valid work permits of foreign workers. The employers carry out the commitments per the rules of law 19 of 2006 and its executive decisions.
