International Affairs Undersecretary warns of Iranian practices

Bucharest, July 12 (BNA): The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for International Affairs, Dr. Shaikh Abdullah bin Ahmed Al Khalifa met today, during his official visit to the Republic of Romania, the Vice Chairman of the Committee for Foreign Policy of the Romanian Senate at the Palace of the Parliament of Romania.
Dr. Shaikh Abdullah bin Ahmed Al Khalifa reviewed the pioneering role of the legislative branch in the national process and its effective contribution to the consolidation of democratic practice and the promotion of popular participation thanks to the comprehensive reform approach of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.
The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for International Affairs added that the Legislature plays a pivotal role in the decision-making process under the principle of separation of powers. He also stressed that there is a firm tradition and full belief in the importance of cooperation between the executive and legislative branches on the basis of mutual respect and national responsibility to strengthen the pillars of the modern civil state.
Dr. Shaikh Abdullah bin Ahmed Al Khalifa pointed out that the recent parliamentary elections that saw a high popular participation and were held in an atmosphere of freedom, transparency and integrity, confirm that the Kingdom of Bahrain has established its democratic and progressive model has also succeeded in protecting its national security and combating terrorism through a system that prioritises the citizens.
The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for International Affairs addressed the pivotal role of the Bahrain Economic Vision 2030 in diversifying the national economy and attracting investments, stressing that the Kingdom is able to strike a balance between the requirements of security and progress and safeguarding freedoms and achieving sustainable development.
He also warned against the dangers of the Iranian practices that threaten international peace and security. He called for the concerted efforts of the international community against those who practise terrorism against ships and civilian installations and threaten international navigation and energy security.
Vice Chairman of the Committee for Foreign Policy praised the keenness of the Kingdom of Bahrain to continue its reforms and development, praising the vital role of the legislative branch to promote the democratic process in the Kingdom.
He also expressed his country's aspiration to learn about Bahrain's successful model in the field of tolerance and coexistence and the fight against extremism.
