International Online Conference on Genetic Medicine Concludes
Riyadh, April 12, 2021, SPA - The International Virtual Conference on Genetic Medicine, co-organized by the Saudi Society of Medical Genetics (SSMG) and the King Abdulaziz University’s Princess Al-Jawhara Center of Excellence in Research of Hereditary Disorders, has concluded recently with a number of recommendations seeking more public awareness and international engagement in genome sciences.
The conference, held from April 6-8, saw the participation of a large number of pediatricians, geneticists, genetic researchers, laboratory technicians, nutritionists who presented working papers on medical genetics, genetic diseases and disorders.
The conference’s outcome document also calls for more support for the national research and efforts in genetic medicine being led by the government of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.
The SSMG’s periodical conferences seek to enhance joint research on genetic sciences and medicine and discuss latest technologies and methods in the field in addition to supporting national health efforts and increasing awareness of genetic diseases.
The 23-credit hour international virtual conference on genetic applications and screening for metabolic diseases is the latest online conference organized by the SSMG and been accredited by the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties to serve as an opportunity for medical professionals to keep up-to-date with the most advanced genetic technologies and developments.
