International Participants In MACA Courses Increase This Year

KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 6 (Bernama) -- The number of international participants in courses and training at the Malaysia Anti-Corruption Academy (MACA) has nearly doubled this year compared to last year.
MACA director Abdul Wahab Abdul Aziz (right) said the academy received 268 international participants this year compared to 152 participants in 2013.
"Among the countries which sent their corruption enforcement officers to MACA are Afghanistan, Bhutan, Maldives, Fiji and Vietnam," he told reporters at the MACA Open Day 2014 here Saturday.
He said MACA, which was recognised as an Asean anti-corruption training hub at the 10th South East Asia Parties Against Corruption (SEA-PAC) meeting recently, offers the certified integrity officer course which was popular among the foreign participants.
Other courses and training available at the academy include those related to money trafficking, whistleblower, intelligence-based investigation, corruption risk management and corruption prevention management, he said.
The MACA Open Day from Dec 4 to 6 aims to foster strategic relations between MACA and training institutes of private and government agencies nationwide. (photoBERNAMA)
