Int'l visitors welcome to Bangkok Street Food Festival in June 2017

BANGKOK, April 20 (TNA) - The state-run Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) will join forces with the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) to organize the "Bangkok Street Food Festival" in June 2017 to showcase the unique charm of the city's street food. TAT Governor Yuthasak Supasorn told journalists on Thursday that TAT and BMA have agreed on the co-host of the Bangkok Street Food Festival 2017, aimed to publicize the charm of the capital's street food. Yuthasak said the upcoming event, in which international visitors are welcome, is being planned, following street food in Bangkok was recently ranked top among World Street Food by CNN, a US media giant, especially in Yaowaraj,or Thailand's Chinatown, and in Khao San areas. Besides, CNN also ranked earlier this week Bangkok's Or Tor Kor Market in Chatuchak area the world's fourth best fresh market. According to the TAT governor, his agency and BMA have agreed to jointly promote the capital's street food to meet the international quality and hygienic standards to assure consumers of its safety in order to sustain the unique charm of the city's street food. Meanwhile, BMA announced that sales of street food are still allowed in designated areas in the city that are properly regulated and overseen by the City Authority to keep social order in public places.
