Iran buys foreign forbidden books for research

TEHRAN,Dec.24 (MNA) -- The Majlis Library, Museum, and Documentation Center (MLMDC) purchased a number of books that are forbidden in Iran, for use by scholars. A total of 1000 editions of 150 books promoting Wahhabism, Baha’ism, and anti-Shiism and anti-Iranian subjects have been purchased from the Sharjah International Book Fair, a MLMDC official said in press release on Thursday. “The decision to purchase the collection was made to scrutinize the enemies’ propaganda against Iran and Shia and then to find appropriate responses to the misinformation,” Ali-Akbar Zare’ Bidaki said. He said that most of the books have been printed by publishing companies from Egypt, Jordan, Saudi Arabia and Kuwait. In addition, a number of the books have been published by the United Arab Emirates University. The MLMDC will keep the books in a special section, which only offers access for “scholars and certain people”. Twenty of the books contains subjects and maps promoting false titles for the Persian Gulf, Zare’ Bidaki stated.
