Iran diesel oil consumption down 12.8%

Azerbaijan, Baku, Jan. 8th / Trend, F. Milad‎‏ Iran's average diesel oil consumption stood at 91.6 million liters per day in the week ending on January 4th. The amount indicates a 12.8% decrease compared to the preceding week, the SHANA News Agency reported. Deputy Manager of the National Iranian Oil Products Distribution Company (NIOPDC) Naser Sajjadi said on October 22nd, 2012 that on average, some 92 liters of diesel oil were consumed daily in the first seven months of the current Iranian calendar year, which began on March 20, 2012. This amount is 4.2% more that the same period previous year. Iran's average gasoline consumption also stood at 55.9 million liters per day in the week ending on January 4. According to Sajjadi, on average some 64 million liters of gasoline were also consumed during the first seven months of current year, which is 5.7% more than during the same time span the previous year. Sajjadi had previously said that Iran's gasoline consumption increased by 5% each year.
