Iran launches first shopping TV channel

TEHRAN,Nov.22(MNA) -- Iran has launched its first shopping TV channel offering a broad range of products under the title “Bazaar”. The TV channel is introducing a variety of Iranian products and is available around the clock, IRIB (Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting) director Ezzatollah Zarghami said at the opening ceremony here on Sunday. “Bazaar” channel has been launched with the aim of reforming Iranian patterns of consumption via television and helping to give the economy a boost, Zarghami added. He also said that the ultimate goal of the channel is national economic growth, while it helps Iranian producers, shops and agencies sell more products. Providing the viewers information where to purchase the products they need, introducing new products and giving advice on what to buy are among the major goals of this channel, he said. Zarghami also called the channel a place where inexpensive goods are offered for sale to low-income families, while it helps them save a little money and time.
