Iran National Library displaying Qajar era documents on Ashura

TEHRAN,Dec.1(MNA) -- The Iran National Library and Archives (INLA) is displaying Qajar era documents on Ashura and the uprising of Imam Hussein (AS). Ashura is the tenth of the month of Muharram which marks the anniversary of the martyrdom of Imam Hussein (AS) and a number of his followers. A selection of 30 documents from the collections available at the library is on display at the showcase. The documents show the historical process, social and political situation during the Qajar and Pahlavi eras during the Muharram mourning season, as mentioned in a press release. A total of 150 books written by contemporary authors on the virtues of Imam Hussein (AS) and his followers are also on display on the sideline of the showcase. The exhibit will run until December 9 at the venue of the Iran National Library and Archives.
