Iranian filmmaker brings home India’s Golden Elephant
TEHRAN -- The Iranian film “Meadow” was selected as the best film at the International Children’s Film Festival India, the Golden Elephant.
Directed by Mohammad-Ali Talebi, the film won a Golden Elephant Trophy for Best Feature Film.
“Meadow” narrates the nomadic migration of a family whose young adult son was obliged to drive their herd to the country which involved him in some problems.
About 154 films from 38 countries were screened across 13 theaters in Hyderabad during the festival which was held from November 14 to 20.
The festival was organized by the Children’s Film Society, India (CFSI) and the Andhra Pradesh government.
Iranian documentarian Marjan Riahi was also among the jury of this edition of the Golden Elephant.
The International Children’s Film Festival India (ICFFI), also popularly known as The Golden Elephant, is a biennial festival that strives to bring the most delightful and imaginative national and international children’s cinema to young audiences in India.
The festival had three Competition Sections: Competition International, Competition India, and Competition Little Directors where international and national films compete for the prestigious Golden Elephant Trophies, accompanied by cash awards.
