Iranian films line up for Estonian festival
TEHRAN,Nov. 17 (MNA) -- Iranian films will go on screen at the Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival which will be held from November 16 to 20 in Estonia.
“Mr. Yusef” by Ali Rafiei, “Nader and Simin, a Separation” by Asghar Farhadi, “Mourning” by Morteza Farshbaf and “Goodbye” by Mohsen Rasulof will be screened at the event.
“Mr. Yusef” narrates the life of a man with the same name who is living with his only daughter. He does everything he can for a living and for his daughter’s sake hoping she will be his forever. But a misunderstanding causes everything to become really complicated for him.
“Mourning” is a movie about the events that revolve around a deaf and mute couple, Kamran and Sharareh. After a terrible quarrel, Nahid and Masud depart for Tehran without their son Arshia. The next day, Kamran and Sharareh start off to return Arshia to his parents. But they already know that Arshia’s parents were killed in a car accident.
Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival (Tallinna Pimedate Ööde Filmfestival in Estonian, or PÖFF for short), is an annual film festival held in Tallinn, Estonia.
The Black Nights Film Festival consists of the main program and four sub-festivals, which take place over the course of two weeks. The main program consists of screenings of feature films from the last two years, with one country chosen as a special focus, and awards are given out both by juries and the audience. There is also a retrospective of a chosen director's work.
