Iranian submissions sent to Germany’s Best Book Design awards

TEHRAN,Dec.13 (MNA) – A number of Iranian publishing companies recently submitted their books to Germany to compete with other world publishers in the Best Book Design awards. Qadyani, Ketabsara, Yasavoli, Zeitun, Zekr, Saberin and Rasm publishing companies are among those selected. Germany’s Stiftung Buchkunst (Foundation for Book Art) had assigned Iran’s Shabaviz Publishing Company to choose Iranian nominations for the competition, Shabaviz announced earlier in a press release. The submissions are being sent to a committee in Stiftung Buchkunst in Leipzig, where they will compete against hundreds of other books from dozens of countries. Books in all fields but only those published after January 2009 were to be submitted to the competition. A jury composed of international design and publishing professionals will select the grand prize winner and the runners up, who will receive honorable mention. All the submissions will be put on display in exhibitions at the Leipzig Book Fair in March 2010, the Frankfurt Book Fair in October, and many other popular national shows around Europe. After the exhibitions, the submissions will be kept in a special collection at the German National Library in Frankfurt.
