IRNA chief confers with managers of global news agencies

Baku, Nov 19, IRNA – Managing Director of Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) Mohammad Khodadi held talks with a number of his counterparts from Asian, European, American and African news agencies here late Friday. The meetings were held on the sidelines of the 16th General Assembly of the Asia-Pacific News Agencies (OANA) in Baku. Khodadi held separate meetings with senior managers of several news agencies from Poland, Hungary, Albania, Libya, Ethiopia, Liberia, Nigeria, Italy's Ansa, UK's Reuters, France's AFP, Pakistan's APT, Afghanistan's Bakhtar, India's PTI, Qatar's FANA, South Korea's Yonhap, Russian Caucasus's Payam, Azerbaijan Republic's AZERTAC, Azerbaijan Republic's Trend, US' AP as well as Kuwait's Kuna. He also held talks with senior officials of Assembly of the Federation of Arab News Agencies (FANA) and International Islamic News Agency (IINA) in Baku. The three-day event of OANA opened in Baku with the participation of 43 officials from 35 news agencies of the member states on Nov 16. At the end of the meeting, IRNA also was re-elected as a member of the Executive Board of OANA. 1378/IRNA
