ITU's Award affirms HRH Premier's vision

Manama, Aug. 9 (BNA): Social Development Minister Faeqa bint Saeed Al Saleh said the granting of Prime Minister HRH Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa the International Telecommunications Union (ITU)'s Sustainable Development Award which coincides with the (ITU)'s 50th anniversary comes as proof of international recognition and appreciation of His Royal Highness's continuous efforts to achieve sustainable development in the Kingdom of Bahrain and his outstanding accomplishments in various socio-economic development programmes.
The minister said this international recognition of HRH the Prime Minister's great contributions in achieving sustainable development in Bahrain as part of the comprehensive development and advancement which places the Kingdom of Bahrain among the countries that use technologies to serve development with positive returns for the nation and citizens.
She said the granting of this international award to HRH the Prime Minister constitutes an added incentive for the government to continue the march of national development and further successes, and represent a source of honour and pride for the Bahraini people in their government which has always been keen on Kingdom of Bahrain assuming a prestigious place at the regional, continental and international levels.
She added that HRH the Prime Minister has excelled in achieving the aspirations and ambitions of the Bahraini people by launching a huge technological setup in all areas of development which had the greatest effect in boosting technological services and the improvement of standards as well as the directives and unlimited support of His Royal Highness to boost and keep up with fast IT developments and quantum leaps.
