Japanese ambassador visits Azarbaijan Museum

TEHRAN,Nov. 30 (MNA) -- Japanese Ambassador to Tehran Kinichi Kumano paid a visit to the Azarbaijan Museum in Tabriz, the capital of Iran’s East Azarbaijan Province.
“The history of Tabriz and its historical monuments indicate the magnificence of the city from historical and cultural points of view,” he said during his visit to the museum.
He said that the history of Tabriz is replete with grand humanistic aspects using technology and industry for facilities for the benefit of the people.
The Japanese nation is not aware of the history, art, culture and costumes of the Iranian cities, he lamented.
“It is our duty to inform Japanese about the tourist attractions and historical sites of East Azarbaijan Province and especially the city of Tabriz,” he said.
The ambassador accompanied by a delegation also paid a visit to other historical sites of the city.
Many major archaeological and historical objects are on display at the Azarbaijan Museum.
It mostly contains objects discovered during excavations in Iranian Azarbaijan and also some artworks and sculptures by artists. Its library contains more than 2500 books, both hand written and printed, about history, archaeology, art and Iranian culture.
