Jeenbekov lays capsule for new Kyrgyz-Azerbaijani Friendship Park

Bishkek, Jan.10, 2020. /Kabar/. The Kyrgyz-Azerbaijani Friendship Park will be built in the southern part of Bishkek, President Sooronbay Jeenbekov said today, Jan. 10 at the ceremony of laying capsule for the construction of the Park. The agreement on construction was reached following the talks between Presidents of Kyrgyzstan Sooronbay Jeenbekov and Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev on the margins of the Summit of the Cooperation Council of Turkic-Speaking States (CCTS) in Kyrgyzstan’s Cholpon-Ata town in 2018, and in Azerbaijan’s capital city Baku in 2019, the Kyrgyz President’s press service reported. In addition, the Azerbaijani side intends to build a secondary school in the Kok-Dzhar housing estate in Bishkek. Jeenbekov noted these activities being undertaken within the framework of previously reached agreements are evidence of high level of friendship and cooperation between the countries. He thanked the Azerbaijani side represented by President Ilham Aliyev for assistance in the construction of the Park, and expressed confidence that it would become a symbol of true friendship between the two nations. The Park will be opened within the official visit of Azerbaijani leader Ilham Aliyev to Kyrgyzstan in 2020. Azerbaijani Ambassador to Kyrgyzstan Hidayat Orujov, expressing gratitude to the Kyrgyz President for the implementation of this project, read out a message from President Aliyev. The Azeri leader’s message runs that the Park is a symbol of friendship and brotherhood of the countries, relations between which reflect the will of the two peoples with common historical and ethnic roots, national spiritual values and traditions. The Kyrgyz-Azerbaijani Friendship Park will be located on an area of 5.5 hectares. In addition to other infrastructure, it will have fountains, artificial swimming pools, an outdoor amphitheatre, playgrounds for children and others, the press service of Bishkek Mayor’s Office reported.
