Jeenbekov: The most valuable thing for us is the health and lives of our citizens

Bishkek, Apr. 15, 2020 / Kabar /. The most valuable thing for us is the health and lives of our citizens, President of Kyrgyzstan Sooronbay Jeenbekov told speaking in the Parliament.
The head of state attended the oath ceremony for new members of the government, and then made an address in connection with the situation with the pandemic of the coronavirus infection.
Jeenbekov noted that, like other countries of the world, Kyrgyzstan is now going through a difficult test.
“The situation with coronavirus in the country is not simple. As you know, thanks to the tireless work of our doctors, we have cases of recovery among those infected with the virus. But the number of infected citizens is also growing. Unfortunately, there are deaths. According to experts, the growth in the number of infected is yet to come. As the experience of other countries shows, the number of infected people is on the decline after 35-40 days of quarantine. According to the analysis of our experts, the peak incidence rate in Kyrgyzstan is projected for the second half of April,” he said.
The President noted that both neighboring countries and states with which the Kyrgyz Republic is in close allied relations extend the state of emergency in their territories.
The head of Kyrgyzstan emphasized that the most valuable thing is the health and lives of our citizens.
“We will take all measures to protect the health and preserve the lives of people. A vaccine against coronavirus infection has not yet been developed. And the only effective weapon of society to protect against this disease is the strict observance of sanitary and hygienic requirements and the maintenance of strong discipline. Thanks to the observance by citizens of the rules of the state of emergency, we were able to prevent an even greater aggravation of the situation. If the state of emergency is lifted, we will cross out round-the-clock tireless work and efforts of all our doctors, law enforcement officers, our entire society,” the president added.
Sooronbay Jeenbekov said that, despite the difficulties in everyday life, the extension and imposition of a state of emergency in some territories is the most necessary step.
“We all need to understand this. Therefore, I have decided to extend this regime in some cities and regions until April 30. I signed the corresponding decree yesterday,” the leader of the country said.
He noted that extending the state of emergency was not an easy decision.
