Jeenbekov receives Chairwoman of Mandatory Health Insurance Fund Boronbayeva

Bishkek, Apr. 30, 2020. /Kabar/. President Sooronbay Jeenbekov received on Thursday Chairwoman of the Mandatory Health Insurance Fund (MHIF) under the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic Elnura Boronbayeva. Measures to improve the quality of medical services, as well as public access to them in emergency and state of emergency were discussed, the President’s press service reported. Sooronbay Jeenbekov noted the situation with the spread of coronavirus infection in the territory of the country has revealed systemic gaps in the health care. He stressed the special need to improve the entire health care system, including mandatory medical insurance of citizens, as well as to strengthen the role of public health. The Kyrgyz leader noted that special attention should be paid to the digitalization of the healthcare sector, which should have a positive impact on the entire system, including the treatment of patients. He also drew attention to the rational use of international aid funds. Elnura Boronbayeva provided information on activity of the Fund in conditions of coronavirus infection pandemic. She talked of measures taken to guarantee quality medical aid to citizens of the country. The chairwoman said all state medical institutions currently have stocks of individual protection means for medical workers. The purchase of protective equipment is continuing with the use of budgetary funds, and the stock of medical facilities is being replenished daily. In total, for the last 3.5 months KGS 187 million have been allocated for this purpose. The MHIF head also noted the work on regulation of prices for medicines is carried out jointly with the involved state bodies. As of 10:00 a.m. Apr. 30, 17 new cases of COVID-19 have been revealed in Kyrgyzstan, including 4 cases among medical workers. Thus, Kyrgyzstan's coronavirus case tally has reached 746. 462 citizens have been recovered and discharged from hospitals, 8 have died.
