Jeenbekov refrains from participation in Victory parade as COVID-19 detected in presidential delegation

Bishkek, June 24, 2020. /Kabar/. Two people accompanying Kyrgyz President Sooronbay Jeenbekov have been tested positive for COVID-19 coronavirus infection. "According to the algorithm, President Sooronbay Jeenbekov, members of the delegation and accompanying persons upon arrival in Moscow have passed the test for COVID-19. Results of two people came back positive," the press service of the Kyrgyz President said. Head of the Foreign Policy Department of the President's Office Daniyar Sydykov and one security officer tested positive for COVID-19. In accordance with the further algorithm, the President has decided to refrain from participating in events, dedicated to the 75th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War. On June 23, Sooronbay Jeenbekov has arrived in Moscow for working visit. At the invitation of Russian President Vladimir Putin, the Kyrgyz leader was to attend celebrations marking the 75th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War.
