Jeenbekov: Requirements for digitalization of regions will be strengthened

Bishkek, June 4, 2020. /Kabar/. "Requirements for the digitalization of regions will be strengthened," Kyrgyz President Sooronbay Jeenbekov said today during a digital dialogue with heads of the country's oblasts and mayors of Bishkek and Osh, his press service reported Thursday.
The head of state noted the emergency situation, imposed due to the spread of coronavirus infection, has revealed a number of shortcomings and problems in the regions, and therefore the issues of development and digitalization of regions will remain priorities of state policy.
Jeenbekov stressed the need to maximize the competitiveness of regions while effectively using new opportunities for regional management and support of local business.
"Our main goal is complex and consistent development of regions using new digital relationships. One of our main tasks is to make life easier for our citizens by reducing bureaucracy, improving the quality of local services provided to the population, automating procedures in the municipal service. Introduction and expansion of the use of digital technologies in regions remains one of the main criteria for evaluating the work of heads of oblasts and regions of the country," concluded the Kyrgyz leader.
Today, June 4 President of Kyrgyzstan Sooronbay Jeenbekov held meeting with heads of the country's regions and mayors of the cities Bishkek and Osh in the format of a videoconference.
The purpose of the digital dialogue is to discuss topical issues of regional development and digitalization of the country, as well as measures to combat coronavirus infection in the regions.
