Journalists' key role in development hailed

Manama, May 5 (BNA): Shura Council Chairman Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh hailed the efforts of journalists and media persons in highlighting the role of the council and its contribution to the legislative process. He praised the high level of the local press, lauding the national competencies and their remarkable role in projecting national achievements in various fields. The Shura Council Chairman was speaking during a celebration held by the council, in the presence of Shura Council First Deputy Chairman Jamal Mohammed Fakhro, Second Deputy Chairman Hala Ramzi Fayez, members and Secretary General Chancellor Osama Ahmed Al Asfoor. The ceremony was organised to honour the journalists and media persons in charge of covering the council's work, marking Bahrain Press Day which is observed on May 7. The Shura Council Chairman commended the efforts of the journalists and media persons in serving the reform project, stressing keenness of the council on coping with legislation that caters to the journalists' aspirations. He congratulated them on the occasion, wishing them further success.
