Judicial Institute holds graduation ceremony

Manama, June 2 (BNA): A batch of 32 lawyers graduated today during a ceremony hosted by the Judicial and Legal Studies Institute (JLSI). The ceremony was attended by Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments Minister Shaikh Khalid bin Ali bin Abdulla Al-Khalifa, Supreme Judicial Council Chairman, Court of Cassation President Salim Al-Kawari and Public Prosecutor Dr. Ali bin Fadhl Al-Bouainain. Bahrain Bar Society (BBS) Chairperson Huda Al-Mehza'a, American Bar Association – Bahrain Chairman John Potter, judges, consultants, trainers and graduates were also present. Al-Kawari stressed the importance of JLSI lawyers' training programmes under the 2020 Judicial Strategy, which aims at honing the skills of a new generation of lawyers. The minister underlined the challenge of providing more training opportunities as the overall number of lawyers in Bahrain increased to 1100. American Bar Association – Bahrain Chairman John Potter stressed the importance of the 8th training session which, he said, reflects deep-rooted relations binding Bahrain and the US. Bahrain Bar Society (BBS) Chairperson Huda Al-Mehza'a lauded the sustainability of the training programme which, she said, hones the skills of graduate lawyers or those who are already exercising their profession. The minister, Al-Kawari, Dr. Al-Bouainain, and JLSI President honoured the graduates and the panel of arbitrators which took part in assessing training groups.
