'Justice Ministry committed to promoting moderation, co-existence, tolerance values'

Manama, Nov. 9 (BNA): Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments Minister, Khalid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, has stressed that knowledge, mastery of work and belonging to the homeland are called for by Prophet Mohammed (PBUH), noting that the Justice Ministry has been committed to promoting the values of moderation, co-existence and tolerance embedded in Islam, as part of its efforts to foster authentic values, good citizenship and good morals.
He affirmed that the Justice Ministry would carry on its efforts to strengthen the pillars of a society based on moderate thought, unity and fraternity and seeking achievements and progress, under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.
The minister was speaking during a ceremony held last night at the Ahmed Al-Fateh Islamic Centre marking the Anniversary of Prophet Mohammed (PBUH)'s Birthday.
Organised by the Ministry of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments and the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (SCIA), the event was attended by religious figures, judges, ambassadors, diplomatic corps and scores of citizens and residents.
Reader, Abdulla Khalifa Hamdan, recited some verses of the Holy Quran at the beginning of the ceremony. Then, Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments Minister Shaikh Khalid bin Ali bin Abdulla Al Khalifa delivered a speech marking the religious occasion.
Court of Cassation Judge, SCIA member Shaikh Rashid bin Hassan Al-Buainain and SCIA member, Shaikh Mansour Ali Hamada, also addressed the ceremony.
They highlighted the importance of commemorating the Birthday of Prophet Mohammed (PBUH) so as to preserve and spread the values and precepts of Islam.
They affirmed that Bahrain has always been a land of tolerance, co-existence and religious freedom, citing the ability of the followers of all religions to mark their religious occasions and perform their religious rituals freely, thanks to the directives and support of its leadership, which, they said, entitles the kingdom to be a role model for religious freedom, tolerance and co-existence.
They wished the kingdom further progress and prosperity, under HM the King's leadership.
