Khalifa bin Zayed Foundation provides aid to 650,000 families in Malawi

ABU DHABI, 12th March, 2015 (WAM) --In implementation of the directives of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan and the follow-up of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, the Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation has provided urgent food and medical aid to about 650,000 people affected by the floods that swept Malawi recently. An official source at the Khalifa Foundation said that the aid comes within the framework of the UAE's approach led by His Highness the President based on the provision of assistance to all countries without discrimination. The source explained that the provided assistance was estimated to be about 2,280 tons of corn in addition to a large amount of drugs and medicines. He pointed out that aid was purchased from the local market to support the Malawian economy.
