King Hamad Centre for Coexistence receives Kazakhstan invitation

Manama, Mar. 29 (BNA): The King Hamad Global Center for Peaceful Coexistence received an official invitation to attend the Seventh Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions on September 14-15 in Nur Sultan.
The Center Secretary-General Shaikh Abdullah bin Ahmed bin Salman Al Khalifa received Kazakhstan Ambassador to Bahrain Berek Aryn.
The ambassador conveyed the invitation for the Center Board of Trustees Chairman Dr. Shaikh Khalid bin Khalifa Al Khalifa to attend the congress under the theme the role of leaders of world and traditional religions in the spiritual and social development of humankind in the post-pandemic era.
Bulat Sarsenbayev, the Chair of Kazakhstan’s Nazarbayev Centre for Development of Interfaith and Intercivilizational Dialogue, said that the congress will discuss the role of religions in fostering spiritual and moral values in the modern world.
It will also review the role of education and religious enlightenment in enhancing respectful coexistence of religions and cultures, justice and peace.
Participants will also discuss the contribution of religious leaders and politicians to promoting global interreligious dialogue and peace, resisting extremism, radicalism and terrorism, especially based on religion.
The contribution of women to the well-being and sustainable development of society and the role of religious communities in supporting the social status of women will also be highlighted.
The congress was launched in September 2003 and its importance lies in promoting values that would help to understand the problem of extremism and terrorism, enrich dialogue among different religions, and achieve a deeper understanding of religions.
It also helps spread a culture of tolerance, coexistence and mutual acceptance, contribute to ending armed, ethnic and sectarian conflicts.
