King Hamad Global Centre chairman receives US ambassador

Manama, Sep. 2 (BNA): Board of Directors Chairman of the King Hamad Global Centre for Peaceful Coexistence, Dr. Shaikh Khalid bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, received here today the US Ambassador to Bahrain, Justin Siberell, with whom he reviewed the deep-rooted Bahrain-US friendship relations in various fields. They also discussed issues of common interest, as well as ways to enhance scientific and intellectual cooperation to promote the values of tolerance and peaceful co-existence at the international level. Dr. Shaikh Khalid bin Khalifa informed the US Ambassador about the main projects and initiatives launched by the King Hamad Global Centre for Peaceful Coexistence, stressing the Centre’s keenness to embrace youth to disseminate the values of tolerance, citing the launch of the King Hamad Chair for Interfaith Dialogue and Peaceful Co-Existence at the Sapienza University in Italy. The US ambassador praised the historical role played by Bahrain in supporting and consolidating tolerance, co-existence and religious freedoms among various ethnicities and faiths, as the basis for building the nation, which, he said, is a tangible reality in Bahrain. He affirmed that the prevailing tolerance and co-existence in Bahrain entitle the kingdom to be a role model to be emulated by many countries in the region. The envoy expressed his readiness to cooperate fully with the King Hamad Global Centre for Peaceful Coexistence in order to attain more achievements.
