King Hamad-UNESCO Award winners announced

Paris, Mar. 13, (BNA): Education Minister Dr. Majid bin Ali Al Nuaimi affirmed the importance of King Hamad-UNESCO Award in spreading education through information and communication technologies.
The ninth session witnessed the submission of 700 projects. The panel shortlisted 143 projects from 78 countries that met all the criteria, the highest number of nominations since its launch in 2005.
The "Information and communication technology in education "from Morocco and the "Continuous learning initiative "projects from the India won the first and second titles respectively .
Speaking to "Asharq Al Awsat" daily, Radio Monte Carlo (RMC), and Egypt’s Middle East News Agency (MENA), Dr. Al Nuaimi citing the excellent relations between Bahrain and Egypt particularly in the educational field.
The Award was presented to the winners a ceremony held at UNESCO headquarters, under the patronage of His Majesty the King, in the presence of Deputy Prime Minister Jawad bin Salim Al-Arrayed, UNESCO Director-General Audrey Azoulay and senior officials, and number of researchers and specialists in information and communication technology fields.
