King tasks BACA to organise Bahrain's participation in Expo 2020 Dubai

Manama, Oct. 5 (BNA): President of the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities (BACA), Shaikha Mai bint Mohammed Al Khalifa, received here today a delegation of the organisers of Expo 2020 Dubai, in the presence of the UAE Ambassador to Bahrain, Abdul Ridha Abdulla Khouri. The meeting is within the framework of coordination with BACA, which will be in charge of organising Bahrain's participation in Expo 2020 Dubai, after being formally tasked by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa to do that. "We extend our thanks to the wise leadership, led by HM King Hamad, the first supporter of culture in Bahrain, for the confidence bestowed upon BACA," Shaikha Mai said, pledging that BACA will do all what is necessary to gain Bahrain a new civilisational accomplishment at the prestigious world event. BACA earned Bahrain the silver medal for second best pavilion at the Milan Expo 2015 in Italy, while the gold and bronze medals were granted to France and China respectively in the same category. BACA president stressed the importance of the UAE's hosting of such a world event, adding that All Arabs have the right to be proud of that. She affirmed that Dubai is capable of ensuring the success of the global gathering which will be attended by all world countries. The visiting delegation lauded BACA's success in organising Bahrain's external participations, noting that the kingdom's participation in Expo 2020 Dubai will focus on promoting the common civilisational and human values of the countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC). The delegation expressed confidence that BACA would do its utmost to ensure the success of Bahrain's participation at Expo 2020 Dubai, noting that Bahrain's pavilion will add value to other GCC pavilions.
