Kingdom's model for tolerance, peaceful coexistence highlighted in Bahrain, Brazil discussions Brasilia, Sept. 19 (BNA): The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for International Affairs, Dr. Shaikh Abdulla bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, met with Eduardo Bolsonaro, son of the President of Brazil and President of Foreign Relations Committee of the Lower House of the Federal Republic of Brazil, in Brasilia. The two sides discussed ways to strengthen relations between the two countries as well as regional and international issues of common concern. Dr. Shaikh Abdulla stressed the importance of continuing to strengthen the distinguished relations between Bahrain and Brazil for the benefit of the two friendly countries and to contribute to maintaining international peace and security. He reviewed the important role of parliament in Bahrain in consolidating the pillars of the democratic process as well as its constructive contribution to the comprehensive development and the adoption of community issues and its positive cooperation with the government to achieve the interests of citizens. Dr. Shaikh Abdulla also pointed out that Bahrain, under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, is steadily rooting sound democratic practices. He praised the role of parliament and its responsibilities in the decision-making process and in supporting the national action process through its firm constitutional principles fully supported by the people. He added that the parliament reflects the full and permanent respect for rights and freedoms to consolidate the modern civil state. The undersecretary explained that Bahrain has an integrated and effective system in all areas to ensure the promotion of a decent standard of living for its citizens and investments in its people as a national priority, in line with the principles of the Bahrain Economic Vision 2030 that are based on competitiveness, sustainability and justice. He also stated that Bahrain offers a leading civilizational and humanitarian model in tolerance and peaceful coexistence in light of the freedom and rights that reflect the leadership of Bahrain at the International level. Bolsonaro expressed his country's aspiration to strengthen cooperation and coordination with Bahrain, especially at the level of parliament, praising the Kingdom's remarkable development and reforms in many areas, wishing its people steady progress and prosperity.
