KPK Saves Rp294 Trillion In State Funds

Ambon, Maluku, May 15 (Antara) - Deputy chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Adnan Pandu Praja said until 2014, the anti graft agency saved Rp294 trillion in state fund. "We have sought to prevent corruption of state funds and has succeeded in saving Rp294 trillion," Adnan said here on Thursday. Adnand headed a KPK team to hold a monitoring and evaluation meeting of the Indonesian National Movement to save natural resource in the forestry, plantation and mining in in three provinces -- Maluku' Papua and West Papua. He said more state fund could be saved if income from the three sectors could be optimized. "The fact is state fund from taxes on mineral and coal mining business licenses (IUP)is relatively very small," he said. He said based on data at the Taxation Directorate General, there were 10,922 IUP already issued . IUP holders reached 7,834 but only 5,984 of them had tax identification number(NPWP), and the remaining 1,850 had no NPWP, he said. He said of the 5,984 NPWP holders, only 2,304 regularly paid tax to the government. He said in Maluku, Papua and West Papua there are still IUP holders not having the Clear and Not Clear (CNC) status . "In Maluku, 12 of 101 IUP holders, are still in CNC status ; in Papua 92 of 125 IUP holders and in Papua Barat 81 of 115 IUP holders are CNC status. Another problem faced in the mining sector is the difficulty in collecting state claims, Adnan said. Data at the mineral and coal directorate in 2014, showed that the sate claims totaled more than Rp230 billion in the three provinces in the period of 2011-2013.
