Kulitkraf To Boost Position In Global Market Further

By Norazurra Aziz KUALA LUMPUR, April 18 (Bernama) -- Local shoe manufacturer, Kulitkraf Sdn Bhd is confident of boosting its position following its success in penetrating global markets recently. Its business development manager Muzafar Shah said the company, which was set up in 1958, was still studying opportunities abroad for its shoes although the products had succeeded in entering Dubai, Oman and Sri Lanka. "Although, to date, we have managed to get only five per cent of the global market, we are confident we can boost it through meetings with commercial visitors and our clients at the 2012 Asia Defence Services Exhibition and Conference (DSA). "The responses received so far are very encouraging...We get to meet our clients, recognise new potentials and the exhibition is a good avenue for us to promote the nation's products abroad," he told Bernama here today. Muzafar said the company has also received many orders for its shoes from other government sectors including the Home Ministry, Defence Ministry, Royal Malaysian Police and Royal Malaysian Customs Department. "We specialise in heavy duty and industrial footware whereby we make three types of shoes for tactical, safety for industry and executive shoes for daily wear. "Tactical boots are more used for war, for use in the jungle and training. We also supply safety shoes for factories and the construction sector. We make the shoes according to the specifications of a sector," he said, adding that the company had participated in the exhibition for the fifth year. -- BERNAMA
