President of Kyrgyzstan Sooronbay Jeenbekov has signed the Law of the Kyrgyz Republic “On Ratification of the Additional Protocol to the Agreement between the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Government of the Republic of Turkey on Mutual Trips of Citizens of Apr. 26, 2011”, signed on May 7, 2019 in Ankara. The Law was adopted by the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic on Nov.27, 2019. According to this Law, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan must notify the Turkish side about the implementation of domestic procedures by the Kyrgyz Republic, required for the entry into force of the above Additional Protocol. The Law enters into force 10 days after its official publication. The purpose of the Additional Protocol to the above mentioned Agreement is to simplify the conditions of stay of citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Republic of Turkey in the territory of the two states. In particular, citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic and two persons, accompanying each citizen of the Kyrgyz Republic who stay in Turkey for more than 90 days in order to receive medical services, are exempted from the residence permit fee (if confirmed by a competent medical institution authorized by the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Turkey).
