Late Thai King's funeral archives finished

BANGKOK, Dec 13 (TNA) -- The Thai Ministry of Culture has finished gathering a series of three-book people version archives concerning events and funeral ceremonies of late His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej, which comprise contributed photos and video clips from more than 480 photographers and the general public. Thai Culture Minister Veera Rojpojanarat told a press conference in Bangkok on Tuesday that photos and video clips from across the country and overseas have been compiled for the public archives on the historic events, related to the passing and the funeral ceremonies of the late and beloved Thai monarch. Mr Veera said the first book features the events in Bangkok, while the second and the third books gather stories of the events happening upcountry and overseas respectively. According to the minister, the first publication of 5,000 sets of the archives will also be sent to museums and archives across the country. Meanwhile, Acting Director of the National Archives of Thailand Nuntaka Polchai acknowledged it is the historic archives, in which the general public and over 480 professional photographers have participated in producing the books. Mr Polchai revealed that over 40,000 photos have been summited by amateur and professional photographers. (TNA)
