Latin Salsa, Tango And Samba At Latin American Festival In Bukit Bintang, KL

KUALA LUMPUR, May 9 (Bernama) -- Latin salsa, tango and samba dances will spice up the fourth Latin American Festival to be held at the Bukit Bintang's BB Park on May 20. The festival, which is jointly organised by all the 10 Latin American Embassies in Malaysia - Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Cuba, Ecuador, Mexico, Peru, Uruguay and Venezuela, together with the Latin American Ladies Association of Malaysia, will also exhibit Latin music, food, art and craft, together their handicrafts. Venezuelan Ambassador Manuel Antonio Guzman Hernandez said the festival which is being held annually aimed to introduce the Latin American culture to Malaysians. "Most of the Latin American countries are well known for their 'football teams' through World Cup Football matches among Malaysians. I am proud because they know my country through football matches and even some of them are the fans of the Venezuelan team, and hopefully this festival will let Malaysians know more about our culture," he told Bernama here Tuesday. Meanwhile Brazilian Ambassador Jorge Alberto Lozoya said this festival will be a great opportunity for the Latin American community in Malaysia to introduce their unique culture to their Malaysian friends. "I am sure most of them including students who study here and work here will enjoy their day on this festival and hopefully it can gain a good relationship between Malaysia and Latin American countries," he added. The festival which will kick off at 11am and end at 6pm will give Malaysians the taste of Brazilian Coffees, Brazilian Feijoada - beef stew with beans, Argentina's Arsado or barbeque and Caipirinha, a lime drink. -- BERNAMA
