Lebanese capital to host Turkish Film Festival

IZMIR (A.A) - February 22, 2012 - Lebanese capital of Beirut will host Turkish Film Festival in March 2012. Speaking to AA correspondent in western province of Izmir, Kayhan Kirmizigul, head of Izmir Cinema Association organizing the film festival, said that several important movies have been produced in Turkey in the recent years and these films should be screened in other countries. Kirmizigul said they organized the 1st Turkish Film Festival in Beirut last year and nearly 7,000 Lebanese people watched movies screened within the scope of the festival. Lebanese media and film critics attached a great interest in the festival, he said. Izmir Cinema Association would organize the 2nd film festival with support by Turkish embassy in Beirut, the Promotion Fund of Turkish Prime Ministry as well as the Culture and Tourism Ministry between March 5 and 11, he said.
