LMRA receives IMF delegation

Manama, May 10 (BNA): Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) CEO Osama bin Abdullah Al-Abssi today received a delegation from the IMF's Advisory Committee led by Bikas Joshi. Al-Abssi reviewed economic indicators related to the labor market, noting the flexibility of the labour market’s regulations and the ability to adapt to various economic circumstances, which reflects the strength of the national economic activities. He highlighted Bahrain’s commitment to constantly develop labour regulations and legislation to promote work environment and preserve business owners and labour rights, pointing out the respect for the individuals’ rights and equality without discrimination. He briefed the delegation on the latest LMRA projects, including the flexible work permit, the first of its kind in the region. The IMF delegation lauded the LMRA’s efforts to upgrade the local work environment and preserving labour rights.
